Law money 01

MIAMI – A former assembler for a shower door fabrication company in Hialeah alleges he was not paid overtime.

Yuri Altabas filed a complaint on Sept. 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Fast Shower Inc., Yoel Morera and Alden Perez alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between October 2015 and June, he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Fast Shower Inc., Morera and Perez responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half to plaintiff for working more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid back wages, liquidated damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Luis A. Cabassa of Wenzel Fenton Cabassa PA in Tampa.
