Passenger alleges injuries after fall on MSC Cruises USA Inc. ship

Cruise 07

FORT LAUDERDALE – A passenger alleges she fell in a cruise ship because of the vessel's negligent conditions.

Patricia Hoffmann filed a complaint on Oct. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Division against MSC Cruises USA Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 13, she sustained physical injuries when she tripped and fell inside the vessel's theater because of the over-crowded aisle and dimly lit interior. The plaintiff holds MSC Cruises USA Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed an unsafe condition to exist and negligently designing the vessel to allow a tripping hazard.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $15,000, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Bradley Winston of Winston Law Firm in Davie.
