TAMPA – A Sarasota consulting firm and its managing director allege they were not paid for their services.

Evercore Capital Advisors LLC and Steven A. King filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in the Tampa Division for the Middle District of Florida against Lucid Global Inc., Lawrence Kiey, Dale Park, Jeffrey Hazelton and Richard Browne alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, from Jan. 1, 2015, through Feb. 17, King and his company provided the defendants with consulting services, corporate advice and had introduced many of its trusted advisers and investors. The plaintiff alleges that the defendants failed to compensate plaintiff the reasonable value of his services and has released defamatory statements against King when he attempted to exercise his rights as a shareholder to account books and profit, which caused the plaintiff injury to his business reputation and occupation.

The plaintiffs hold Lucid Global Inc., Kiey, Park, Hazelton and Browne responsible because the defendants allegedly defamed the plaintiff by wrongfully accusing him of being convicted of federal tax fraud charges and earned and refused to fully compensate plaintiffs for their services.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment in their favor, damages, equitable relief and other relief that the court finds just. They are represented by Michael S. Taaffe of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick LLP in Sarasota.
