ORLANDO – An Orlando woman alleges the odometer on a car she purchased from an Orange County dealership had been tampered with.

Dominique Perez filed a complaint individually and on behalf of those similarly situated on Sept. 27 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Central Florida Auto Wholesale Inc., doing business as Deal Time Cars & Credit; Hudson Insurance Co.; and Great American Insurance Co., alleging fraud, fraudulent concealment, negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 4, 2014, she purchased a used Cadillac from Deal Time and she was assured that it reflected the correct mileage and had no history of odometer rollbacks. However, the suit states that in April, she wanted to trade the vehicle in for a vehicle purchase from another dealership, but was refused because the dealership discovered that the Cadillac’s odometer had been rolled-back after the complete appraisal of the said vehicle. As a result, she alleges she was forced to retain counsel and suffered from economic losses.

The plaintiffs hold Central Florida Auto Wholesale Inc., Hudson Insurance Co. and Great American Insurance Co. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to accurately disclose and represent the vehicle’s mileage, altered the vehicle's odometer and failed to comply with the written contract.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants, damages, attorneys’ fees, costs, and further relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Roger D. Mason II, Zachary A. Harrington and Ashley V. Goodman of Roger D. Mason II PA in Tampa.
