Celebrity Cruise carpenter alleges he was injured while on the job

Cruise 09

MIAMI – A cruise line employee alleges he was injured as the result of an unsafe working environment.

Kenneth Goode filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Celebrity Cruises Inc. alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 10, 2015, he sustained physical injuries from falling, including multiple fractures to his left and right tibia and fibula, while working as a carpenter for performances on the defendant's ship. The suit states that a grate was removed from the tension grid where he was working by two other employees without warning, causing him to fall.

The plaintiff holds Celebrity Cruises Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide safety harness to plaintiff while performing his duties and required him to work in an unsafe working environment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by James M. Walker of Walker & O'Neill PA in South Miami and Philip D. Parrish of Phillip D. Parrish PA in South Miami.
