MIAMI – An employee of GTECH Corp. alleges his insurer wrongfully denied him disability benefits.
Donald Goffe filed a complaint on Sept. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Life Insurance Co. of North America citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in December 2013, he became disabled and made a claim for disability benefits but was denied. The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Co. of North America responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to deny plaintiff's disability benefits despite being entitled to those benefits and after several appeals.
The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits due to plaintiff, reinstatement, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Alexander A. Palamara and Gregory Michael Dell of Attorneys Dell and Schaefer Chartered in Hollywood.
