Woman alleges she was injured after slip and fall on wet deck on Carnival ship

Cruise 01

MIAMI – A Texas cruise passenger alleges she was injured when she slipped on a wet deck.

Barbara Thompson filed a complaint on Sept. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Lines, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 22, 2016, she sustained physical injuries when she slipped and fell due to a wet deck on the ship Freedom. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain the area in safe condition, failed to conduct routine inspections and failed to warn.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages plus all legal fees. She is represented by Nicholas I. Gerson, Philip M. Gerson and Edward S. Schwartz of Gerson & Schwartz PA in Miami.
