Woman alleges wet carpet on cruise ship caused fall

Cruise 01

MIAMI – A couple alleges the wife was injured while on the cruise ship the Norwegian Sky because of wet carpeting.

Nohora Berman and Walter Berman filed a complaint on Sept. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against NCL (Bahamas) LTD, doing business as Norwegian Cruise Line, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan. 4, Nohora Berman suffered physical injuries when she slipped and fell while walking down a staircase because of wet carpeting. The plaintiffs hold NCL (Bahamas) LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain the vessel's floors or provide warning to plaintiff regarding the hazardous condition of the carpet.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant plus all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Kevin B. Dennis of Thomas & Pearl PA in Fort Lauderdale.
