ORLANDO — A Florida-based non-profit organization and its pilot founder dedicated to preserving aviation and U.S. space program history have filed suit against a video producer for allegedly taking a documentary they were  working on together and publishing it himself.

Wings of Dreams Inc. and Susan King filed a complaint Aug. 31 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division, against William C. Suchy and Bill Suchy Productions Inc., alleging that they failed to act in good faith.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on March 3, 2011, Wings of Dreams Inc. and Susan King entered an agreement with the defendants to produce a documentary motion picture on the WASPs (Women Airforce Service Pilots). But after filming the footage, the plaintiffs allegedly entered into a dispute with the defendants, who finished and published the documentary on their own and supposedly had the documentary registered with the U.S. Copyright Office entitled "Silver Wings, Flying Dreams." As a result, the plaintiff purportedly lost credibility with their WASP friends, suffered from lost profits, embarrassment, mental anguish and damage to their reputation.

The plaintiffs hold William C. Suchy and Bill Suchy Productions Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to work with the plaintiffs to co-write the film, failed to compensate the plaintiffs for their performed jobs and failed to include screen credits.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants, to enjoin the defendants' continued use of infringed name, costs and expenses, accounting of all gains and profits, interest and further relief as the court may deem appropriate. They are represented by Cynthia Conlin, Jennifer Dawn Reed and Tony Pagan Jr. of Cynthia Conlin & Associates in Orlando.
