Sierra USA Corp. alleged to owe more than $700,000 for furniture

Contract 04

MIAMI – A Brazilian furniture manufacturer alleges its Miami-based U.S. distributor has not paid for products that it ordered to sell in its retail stores.

Sierra Moveis LTDA filed a complaint on Aug. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Sierra USA Corp. alleging breach of contract and open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it is a furniture manufacturer and its products are marketed by the defendant in the U.S. It alleges it delivered goods to the defendant and was not paid for them.

The plaintiff holds Sierra USA Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly retained the goods delivered by plaintiff without compensation, failed to pay in a timely manner and refused to pay for goods received.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in its favor in the amount of $757,503.67, interest, costs of action and other relief that the court deems appropriate. It is represented by Rodney Quinn Smith and John Derek Womack of GST LLP in Miami.
