Carnival accused of negligence after passenger falls while on ship

Cruise 06

MIAMI – A Wisconsin woman alleges she was injured after slipping on a deck on a cruise ship.

Kelly McCarthy filed a complaint on Aug. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in June 10, she sustained physical injuries when she slipped and fell due to a slippery substance left on the Lido deck of the ship Carnival Conquest. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain the area and provide a slip-resistant floor.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages against the defendant. She is represented by Carol L. Finklehoffe and Michael A. Winkleman of Lipcon, Margulies, Alsina & Winkleman PA in Miami.
