Wal-Mart accused of negligence by woman who fell in store

Slip02

FORT MYERS – A Lee County woman claims she was injured after she slipped and fell in a Walmart store.

Theresa Love-Barker filed a complaint on Aug. 17 in the 20th Judicial Circuit Court - Lee County against Wal-Mart Stores East LP alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 13, 2012, she was injured when she slipped on liquid inside the Lehigh Acres store owned and operated by the defendant. She alleges that the incident caused her to suffer permanent bodily injury, aggravation of previously existing condition, permanent disability, mental anguish, lost wages and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Wal-Mart Stores East LP responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a safe property.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages of more than $15,000, attorney's fees, costs and interest. She is represented by Susan Guller of The Law Offices of Justin G. Morgan PA in Weston.
