United Receivables Group LLC accused of using autodialing system to call to collect alleged debt

Phone 06

TAMPA – A Pinellas County consumer claims a debt collector contacted him repeatedly using an automatic dialing system.

Barry Korcsmaros filed a complaint on Aug. 22 in the Tampa Division for the Middle District of Florida against United Receivables Group LLC alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant has contacted him multiple times on his cellphone in an attempt to collect an alleged debt despite requests to stop. The plaintiff holds United Receivables Group LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly contacted plaintiff's cellular telephone using an automatic telephone dialing system.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendant from further violating the TCPA, actual monetary loss or $500 in damages for each violation, treble damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Benjamin W. Raslavich of Raslavich Law PA in Tampa.
