Two people claim Cigna, LINA have not paid insurance benefits per policy terms

Contract 09

FORT MYERS – Two insurance companies are facing accusations that they have not paid insurance benefits to the policy's beneficiaries.

David W. Boone and Kathleen E. Broderick filed a complaint on Aug. 22 in the 20th Judicial Circuit Court of Lee County against Cigna Health and Life Insurance Co. and Life Insurance Co. of North America alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, Jennifer Michelle Boone had a group accident insurance policy with the defendants and that she died in November 2014. The plaintiffs holds Cigna Health and Life Insurance Co. and Life Insurance Co. of North America responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their contractual obligation by failing to pay the plaintiffs for their claim based on the policy left by Jennifer Michelle Boone listing them as the beneficiaries.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants for damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Peter W. Kamm of Morgan & Morgan PA in Fort Myers.
