TAMPA – A maintenance worker alleges he was not making minimum wage while working for a gated community in Trinity.

Craig Torum filed a complaint on Aug. 19 in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida against Heritage Spring Community Association Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime wages or being paid a minimum wage because of his unpaid hours while being "on call." The plaintiff holds Heritage Spring Community Association Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay plaintiff at a rate of time-and-one-half for hours worked in excess of 40 per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Brandon J. Hill of Wenzel Fenton Cabassa PA in Tampa.
