MIAMI — A former passenger is suing Celebrity Cruises Inc. after she allegedly broke four bones in her foot due to a granite step.
Robin Clinker filed a complaint on Aug. 8 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division, against Celebrity Cruises Inc. alleging that the cruise ship company allowed a granite step on their ship to be unnoticeable. She cited alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 21, she sustained injuries, including fractured bones in her foot. The plaintiff holds Celebrity Cruises Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff about the unnoticeable granite step.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages and medical expenses in excess of $75,000, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Spencer Marc Aronfeld and William D. Minnix of Aronfeld Trial Lawyers in Coral Gables.
