Ocwen Loan Servicing accused of telephone harassment

MIAMI – A Broward County woman alleges invasion of privacy against a debt collector.

June Riley filed a complaint on June 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Ocwen Loan Servicing LLC alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was harassed and abused by the defendant contacting her several times a day in an attempt to collect an alleged debt. The plaintiff holds Ocwen Loan Servicing LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to contact plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 in statutory damages, permanent injunction against the defendant, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Christopher Legg of Christopher W. Legg PA in Hollywood and Jennifer T. Harley of Legal Aid Service of Broward County Inc. in Plantation.
