MIAMI – A Palm Beach County man claims his Lake Park employer retaliated against him when he sent a letter asking for alleged unpaid wages.
Michael Lombardi filed a complaint on July 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Northern Pride Automotive Inc., doing business as Tilden Car Care, and Korey Eck alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours for the defendants without being paid any overtime premiums or the legal minimum wage. The plaintiff holds Northern Pride Automotive Inc. and Eck responsible because the defendants allegedly threatened to bring criminal charges against the plaintiff for allegedly taking money when he sent a letter in May demanding payment for all his unpaid overtime wages.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back wages, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Chelsea Bellew and Cathleen Scott of Scott Wagner & Associates PA in Jupiter.
