MIAMI – A Palm Beach County man hired as a technician alleges he was not properly paid for all hours worked.
Rodrigo Ferrareze filed a complaint on behalf of others similarly situated on July 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Waveguide Communications Inc., James Sarakinis, Michael Dowd and Jere Heikkila alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between 2013 and 2016, he worked for more than 40 hours per workweek without being paid any overtime premiums. The plaintiff holds Waveguide Communications Inc., Sarakinis, Dowd and Heikkila responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime wages at a rate of time-and-one-half to plaintiff as well as failed to maintain proper time records for their employees.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, all legal fees and interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Brian L. Lerner of Kim Vaughan Lerner LLP in Fort Lauderdale and John P. Salas of Salas Law Firm PA in Plantation.
