Passenger alleges door on cruise ship caused her to fall, injure spine

Cruise 03

MIAMI – A Kansas woman who was a passenger on the cruise ship Dawn alleges a door caused her to fall and injure her spine.

Jill Susan Galbreath filed a complaint on July 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against NCL (Bahamas) LTD, doing business as NCL, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 16, 2015, she sustained serious physical injuries, including spinal cord damage, when her bathroom door suddenly opened, causing her to strike the adjacent floor and closet. The plaintiff holds NCL (Bahamas) LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect the bathroom door on the cabin of its vessel to make sure that it is fully safe for passengers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Glenn J. Holzberg of Holzberg Legal in Miami.
