Passenger files suit after falling on Carnival ship

Cruise 06

MIAMI – A Michigan woman alleges she was injured while on a cruise on the Carnival Breeze.

Kelly Martin filed a complaint on July 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Lines Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 26, 2015, she sustained physical injuries when she slipped and fell due to a slippery surface found on the deck of the Carnival Breeze. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly inspect the deck of its vessel to make sure that it was dry or provide adequate warning to passengers regarding the condition of the floor.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, interest, and all legal fees. She is represented by Paul M. Hoffman of Hoffman Law Firm in Fort Lauderdale.
