MIAMI – A passenger who was injured on a cruise ship alleges she was dropped by the ship's employee, causing further injury.
Susan Linza filed a complaint on July 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Celebrity Cruises Inc. alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 9, she fell while on the Celebrity Eclipse and fractured her left ankle. She alleges that she was transported back to her room in a wheelchair by an attendant, who picked her up out of the chair to carry her into the cabin. The suit states she was dropped by the attendant, which caused further injury to her left ankle. The plaintiff holds Celebrity Cruises Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed its employees to carry plaintiff into her cabin improperly and without providing training on how to properly carry injured persons.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, all medical expenses, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Richard D. Rusak and Keith S. Brais of Brais Brais Rusak in Miami.
