Carnival Dream passenger alleges foot injuries after fall

Cruise 03

MIAMI – A Miami-based cruise line is being accused of negligence after a passenger claims she injured her foot in a fall on a ship.

Teresa Kaluzny filed a complaint on July 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 22, 2015, she slipped and fell while utilizing the available handrail on the Carnival Dream, causing her to fracture several toes and injure her left ankle. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate warning to plaintiff about the condition of the deck.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, medical expenses, all legal fees and interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Richard D. Rusak and Keith S. Brais of Brias Brais Rusak in Miami.
