PALM BEACH – A pedestrian alleges she was injured by a mail delivery truck and is seeking $2 million in damages.

Audrey Boyd filed a complaint on July 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Palm Beach Division against United States of America alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 13, 2013, she was walking on the sidewalk on Broadway when an employee of the defendant backed into her with a mail delivery truck, causing injuries. The plaintiff holds United States of America responsible because the defendant's employee allegedly failed to keep a proper look out while maneuvering the vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for $2 million. She is represented by Brian W. Smith of Smith & Venture LLP in West Palm Beach.
