Suit filed against Carnival over allegations of injures during a scavenger hunt

Cruise 04

MIAMI – An Illinois man has filed a suit against a cruise company alleging he was injured during an activity on the ship.

Wayne Cosmo filed a complaint on July 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Line, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 4, 2015, he experienced pain from several physical injuries as a result of participating in a scavenger hunt near the pool. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly made the event into a race despite knowing the dangers due to the event being held near the pool area, which caused him to slip and fall on a slippery surface.

The plaintiff seeks damages, medical expenses, noneconomic damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by John H. Hickey of Hickey Law Firm PA in Miami.
