MIAMI – A Miami-Dade County woman alleges the operators of the Hotel Bentley terminated her employment because of her age.

Susana Medina filed a complaint on June 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against JKR Bentley Management LLC and JKR Bentley Properties LLC alleging violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 22, 2014, she was terminated from her employment with the defendants because of her age, which was 61 or 62 at the time. The plaintiff holds JKR Bentley Management LLC and JKR Bentley Properties LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly reassigned plaintiff's job responsibilities to younger employees upon her termination.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, back pay, lost benefits and pension adjustments, compensatory damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Darren J. Rousso of The Rousso Law Firm in Miami.
