MIAMI – A security guard company is being accused by a former employee of not paying overtime wages.

Tula Calderon filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on June 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Universal Protection Service LLC alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between April 20, 2015, and June 13, she worked for more than 40 hours per workweek for the defendant but was not paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Universal Protection Service LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay plaintiff at a rate of time-and-one-half for hours worked over 40.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and liquidated damages, minimum wages owed, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Daniel T. Feld of Law Office of Daniel T. Feld PA in Hollywood and Isaac Mamane of Mamane Law LLC in Bay Harbor Islands.
