MIAMI – A Miami-Dade County man alleges he was not paid overtime wages while he worked as a security guard for an Oakland Park business. He has filed a class-action suit.
Robenson Pierre filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on June 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against King Intelligence and Security Services Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between June 2015 and March, he worked for more than 40 hours for the defendant but was not paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds King Intelligence and Security Services Inc., and Kaola King and Larry Weems responsible because the defendants allegedly paid plaintiff straight time for all hours worked instead of paying him overtime compensation at the legal rate of one-and-a half times his regular pay.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation of all unpaid wages, unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by David H. Lichter of Lichter Law Firm in Aventura.
