FORT LAUDERDALE – A former employee of a clinical toxicology testing company in Broward County alleges she was not properly paid for all hours worked.
Silvia Arroyo Blanco filed a complaint on May 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Division against EM1 Labs LLC and Steven Sokolov alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours for the defendants but was not paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds EM1 Labs LLC and Sokolov responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay plaintiff any overtime compensation for all her hours worked in excess of 40 hours per workweek.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and liquidated damages, interest on all unpaid overtime wages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Anthony V. Falzon of Simon, Schindler & Sandberg LLP in Miami.
