Woman alleges she was injured on cruise ship

Cruise 06

MIAMI – A passenger is suing a cruise ship company alleging she was injured on the Carnival Ecstasy.

Lakisha Banks filed a complaint on May 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against the Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Line, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 21, 2015, she sustained physical injuries as a result of slipping and falling on a slippery deck. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to keep the deck of its vessel dry and free of any slippery substance that could cause an accident to its passengers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, interest and all legal fees. She is represented by Paul M. Hoffman of Hoffman Law Firm in Fort Lauderdale.
