PALM BEACH – A man has filed suit against his former employer alleging he was terminated for complaining about not receiving overtime pay.

Alfredo Conde filed a complaint on May 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Palm Beach Division against FSR Trucking and Frederick S. Riceputo alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between 2009 and Feb. 2, 2014, he worked for more than 40 hours but was not paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds FSR Trucking Inc. and Riceputo responsible because the defendants allegedly did not pay plaintiff any overtime compensation as well as failing to pay him the legal minimum wage. He also alleges he was terminated in retaliation for complaining about not receiving overtime pay.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all back wages and an equal amount as liquidated damages, front wages, compensatory damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Peter M. Hoogerwoerd and Waynice A. Green of Remer & Georges-Pierre PLLC in Miami.
