MIAMI – A luxury goods maker alleges that eBay and bonanza.com sellers are offering counterfeit versions of its products.
Chanel Inc. filed a complaint on May 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against besumart.com, elenahouses.com, lunghongbag.com, et al. alleging trademark infringement, false designation of origin and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business and reputation as a result of its trademark being used without its authority as well as its branding are being used on purportedly substandard products. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly promoted, distributed and offered for sale several goods that bear the plaintiff's trademark.
The plaintiff seeks permanent injunction against the defendant,pay plaintiff for all profits and damages resulting from their unlawful practices, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just.
