ORLANDO – An Orange County man alleges a credit reporting agency failed to investigate his claims.
Luis Carrasquillo filed a complaint on May 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against Experian alleging violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he mailed a credit dispute letter several times but the defendant denied them all, claiming it determined the letters weren't sent by him. He alleges that as a result, he was therefore denied credit and was charged with a higher interest rate. The plaintiff holds Experian responsible because the defendant allegedly did not make any efforts to investigate plaintiff's credit disputes.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Carl McPhail of The Law Office of Carl McPhail PLLC in Orlando.
