ORLANDO – A Jacksonville consumer alleges a disputed debt was not marked as such on her credit report.
Jessica Miller filed a complaint on May 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Accelerated Receivables Management Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was damaged as a result of unfair debt collection practices. The plaintiff holds Accelerated Receivables Management Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to remove a debt or mark it as "disputed by consumer" on her credit report upon her submission of a dispute letter on July 20, 2015.
The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Michael Jay Ringelheim of RC Law Group PLLC in Hackensack, New Jersey.
