JACKSONVILLE – A St. John's County man alleges that an employee of a sheriff's office obtained personal information about him to be used for illegal purposes.
Jeffrey Marcus Gray filed a complaint on May 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division alleging violation of the Drivers Privacy Protection Act
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages as a result of his personal information being used without his authorization. The plaintiff holds Bradford County Sheriff's Office and Albritton responsible because Albritton allegedly obtained plaintiff's personal information from the Driver and Vehicle Information Database to be used for purportedly illegal purposes.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, liquidated damages in the amount of $2,500 for each violation, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Andrew M. Bonderud of The Bonderud Law Firm PA in Jacksonville.
