Suit filed against yacht owners for allegedly not paying for repairs

Late 06

FORT LAUDERDALE – A Fort Lauderdale business alleges yacht owners have not paid for repairs.

Nauti-Tech Inc. filed a complaint on May 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Division against the vessel Serenity Atlantic alleging unpaid invoices.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning on or about Feb. 22, it provided necessary repair services to defendant vessel amounting to $16,211.53. Said amount has been unpaid and is still outstanding, the suit states. The plaintiff holds the Serenity Atlantic responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay for the services provided and interest accrued.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks relief for plaintiff to process issue against defendant vessel, be decreed to have a lien upon defendant vessel, be permitted to bid the amount of its lien at the sale of defendant vessel, further award for the total amount due, attorney’s fees, prejudgment interest, court costs and any non-maritime amounts from defendant vessel’s owner. It is represented by Adam M. Ludwin of Ludwin Law Group in Palm Springs.
