Syndicated Office Systems alleged to have violated debt laws on credit report

Late 01

MIAMI – A Broward County consumer alleges that a Frisco, Texas debt collector has violated debt collection laws.

Joshua Mack filed a complaint on April 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Syndicated Office Systems LLC alleging that the debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 15, 2015, he disputed an alleged debt with a dispute letter mailed to the defendant. On Feb. 1, the suit states he found out that the defendant had re-reported the credit account in January but did not mark that it was disputed by the consumer, which is in violation of the FDCPA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages, attorney fees and costs and for any such other and further relief as the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Michael Jay Ringelheim of RC Law Group PLLC in Hackensack, New Jersey.
