JACKSONVILLE – A Jacksonville consumer alleges a Texas debt collector reported a disputed debt to a credit agency and failed to list the debt as such.
Miranda Pollard filed a complaint on April 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division against Southwest Credit Systems LP alleging that the debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant allegedly re-reported her alleged debt to a credit reporting agency after it received her dispute letter in October 2015 and failed to list the account as disputed by costumer.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for actual and statutory damages, attorney's fees and costs and for such other and further relief that the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Michael Jay Ringelheim of RC Law Group PLLC in Hackensack, New Jersey.
