Class-action suit filed against USA Dry Cleaners over alleged wage violations

MIAMI – A former employee at a North Lauderdale dry cleaning location alleges she was not paid proper wages and has filed a class-action lawsuit.

Lillie Robinson filed a complaint on behalf of others similarly situated on April 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against MP818 Corp.and KJM8 Corp. both doing business as USA Dry Cleaners, and Mauricio Mizrahi alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between May 2015 and January, she worked for an average of 54 hours per week but was not paid at least the minimum wage required by law for each and every hour she worked and one-and-one-half wages for all of the actual hours worked in excess of 40 per week. She alleges she is owed $8,111.86 in unpaid wages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks payment for all unpaid wages, liquidated damages, attorneys' fees and costs, prejudgment interest and for all proper relief. She is represented by Keith M. Stern and Hazel Solis Rojas of Law Office of Keith M. Stern PA in Doral.
