Former employees claim The Transition House Inc. owes them overtime wages

Law money 10

ORLANDO – Four former employees of a drug and mental health treatment center allege that they were not properly compensated when they worked more than 40 hours in a week.

Shirley Taylor, Redrica Murray, Constantia Sparks and Juan Morales filed a complaint on April 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against The Transition House Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they did not receive overtime premiums at time-and-a-half of their hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensation for unpaid wages, plus double amount in liquidated damages, reasonable attorney's fees and for such other relief as the court may deem just and appropriate. They are represented by James M. Loren of Loren Law Group in Plantation.
