MIAMI – A Broward County management services provider is suing an Ohio hospital, alleging that the medical provider failed to comply with their accounts receivable consulting agreement.
Healthcare Financial Systems Inc. filed a complaint on April 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Coshocton County Memorial Hospital, citing breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the two parties entered into an agreement in January 2015 for receivable analysis, collection and consultation services for third-party accounts that are delinquent. The plaintiff holds Coshocton County Memorial Hospital responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to make payments as specified in the agreement, raised no objections to the services provided and never disputed the amount billed on the invoices. The plaintiff alleges that it has suffered significant losses, including more than $264,000 in outstanding invoices.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation in the amount of more than $264,000, exclusive of late fees and other charges; prejudgment interest; attorneys’ fees and expenses; post-judgment interest; and all other relief available. It is represented by Melanie E. Damian and Barbara A. Junge of Damian & Valori LLP in Miami.
