Man alleges he was injured in crash with federal employee

Car accident 01

FORT MYERS – A man alleges a federal employee negligently operated his vehicle, causing an accident on North Key Drive.

James Everett McCoy filed a complaint on April 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Fort Myers Division against United States of America, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 23, 2015, while he was driving a motor vehicle on North Key Drive turning South onto U.S. 41, he was struck by a motor vehicle being operated by Drew Milewski, causing him to suffer bodily injuries. The plaintiff holds United States of America responsible because the defendant's employee allegedly failed to yield.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages and for any other such relief that the court may deem proper. He is represented by Jason Rafael Leonard of Morgan & Morgan in Fort Myers.
