Carnival Glory passenger alleges injures after fall on ship

Cruise 09

MIAMI – A Carnival Glory passenger is suing its operators after she alleges she was injured on the ship.

Lisa Calden filed a complaint on March 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Line, citing negligence

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 5, 2015, she suffered bodily injuries when she slipped and fell on a wet, slippery step while walking up the outdoor staircase located on deck 10 of the vessel. The plaintiff holds Carnival Cruise Line responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide its passengers with reasonable care under the circumstances, failed to provide passengers safe passage aboard its vessel, failed to provide adequate lighting in the area, failed to provide slip-resistant steps, failed to close off access to the area until the dangerous condition was corrected and failed to warn passengers of the dangerous and/or hazardous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages recoverable under the law. She is represented by David A. Villarreal and Michael A. Winkleman of Lipcon, Margulies, Alsina & Winkleman PA in Miami.
