MIAMI – A New York-based digital content provider is suing a Boca Raton dental clinic alleging it used an unauthorized photo on its website.
Getty Images Inc. filed a complaint on March 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Thomas A. Copulos DDS, PA alleging violation of United States copyright law.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages due to loss of revenue from defendant's infringement. The plaintiff holds Thomas A. Copulos DDS, PA responsible because the defendant allegedly reproduced, displayed and distributed protected photographic images on its website without authorization by Getty Images.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for damages to be determined at trial, damages attributed to this alleged infringement, prejudgment interest and any further relief that is just and proper.
