Law money 05

MIAMI – A Palm Beach County vacation sales representative has filed a class-action lawsuit against his former employers over allegations that he was not paid minimum wage.

Adonis Batista filed a complaint on behalf of himself and all others similarly situated on March 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against First Choice Travel Group LLC, Christopher Cadorette and Zackary P. Blomont, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Dec. 17, 2015, and Jan. 22, 2016, he did not receive the applicable minimum wage rate. The plaintiff holds First Choice Travel Group LLC, Cadorette and Blomont responsible because the defendants allegedly only paid him $120 per week for working approximately 35 hours.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an issue of notice to defendants' former employees who were similarly deprived of minimum wages, compensation for damages for the amount of unpaid wages, liquidated damages, prejudgment and post-judgment interest and attorneys’ fees and costs. He is represented by Robert S. Norell of Robert S. Norell PA in Plantation.
