Carnival Ecstasy passenger files suit over alleged injuries

Cruise 05

MIAMI – An Orlando woman is suing a cruise line over alleged injuries she sustained while aboard the Carnival Ecstasy.

Kathleen Richardville filed a complaint on March 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Lines Inc., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 20, 2015, she suffered severe bodily injuries to her left knee, back, left leg and left foot when the railing failed on the side of a bunk bed while she was climbing down the ladder. The plaintiff holds Carnival Cruise Lines Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly created and allowed the dangerous condition to exist, failed to warn passengers of such dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages for her injuries caused by the defendant’s alleged negligence, and any further relief that the court may deem appropriate. She is represented by Frank D. Butler of Frank D. Butler PA in Pinellas Park.
