MIAMI – A Miami-Dade County man alleges that his former employer did not pay him overtime wages.

William Garcia Echavarria filed a complaint on March 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against The Boss Cleaning Service Inc. and Dickson Heredero, citing violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between October 2015 and Jan. 15, he worked for approximately 49 hours per week without proper compensation. The plaintiff holds The Boss Cleaning Service Inc. and Heredero responsible because the defendants allegedly willfully refused to pay him even a minimum wage of $7.25 per hour for all of the hours that he worked and failed to pay overtime wages of time-and-one-half of his regular hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a work week.

The plaintiff seeks the following: back pay wages for all unpaid/underpaid hours he worked, attorneys’ fees and costs, and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Brian H. Pollock of FairLaw Firm in Miami.
