Lawsuit filed against Lefty's Tavern and Grille over alleged ADA violations

Wheelchair 02

MIAMI – A Broward County man alleges that a restaurant restricts access to the disabled.

Julius Seiler filed a complaint on March 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Heron Lakes Center LLC and Lefty's Tavern at Coral Springs Inc., doing business as Lefty's Tavern and Grille, citing violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 5, he was denied full, safe and equal access to the defendants' facilities, goods, services and amenities. The plaintiff holds Heron Lakes Center LLC and Lefty's Tavern and Grille responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to remove barriers to access the parking lot, the entrance to the restroom cannot be safely accessed, failed to provide signage where the handicap accessible entrance is and failed to provide disabled persons with a continuous path of travel.

The plaintiff seeks the following: an order requiring defendants to alter their facilities to make it accessible to individuals with disabilities, reasonable attorney's fees and costs, and any further relief as the court may deem necessary, just and proper. He is represented by Jessica Kerr of J & M Advocacy Group LLC in Hollywood.
