Ripon Food Mart accused of not be accessible to the disabled

Manwheelchair

MIAMI – A Broward County man alleges that a grocery store is not handicapped accessible.

Lional Dalton filed a complaint on March 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against A-1940 LLC and Sara USA Enterprise Inc., doing business as Ripon Food Mart, citing alleged discrimination and failure to uphold Americans with Disabilities Act regulations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 14, he was denied full and equal access and enjoyment of their facilities. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide safe access for disabled persons and failed to provide proper signage and access to an accessible restroom.

The plaintiff seeks the following: an order requiring defendants to alter their facilities to make them accessible to individuals with disabilities; attorney's fees and costs and expenses; and any further relief that the court may deem necessary, just and proper. He is represented by Jessica Kerr of J & M Advocacy Group LLC in Hollywood.
