Former employee accuses MSC Care Management of racial discrimination

Discrimination

TAMPA – A woman alleges that her former employer repeatedly denied considering her for a position because of her race.

Chandra Golden filed a complaint on March 16 in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida against MSC Care Management Inc. alleging that the employer violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act of 1991.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff, who is African-American, alleges that she was turned down of her desired position as clinical reviewer five times because of her race and that the position was given to less-experienced Caucasian employees. The plaintiff holds MSC Care Management Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly denied her equal employment opportunities and retaliated against her when she filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for all damages; attorneys' fees and costs; and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Frank M. Malatesta of Malatesta Law Office in Nokomis.
